The department-wide reboot of Linux desktop machines has now been rescheduled for Thursday, June 29th at 5am. That's tomorrow morning as of this writing.
The reboot had been originally been slated for this morning (Wednesday), but we canceled that after learning of a different set of problems that the kernel update would have introduced. There is now a new kernel update to remedy those additional problems.
As before, if you wish to reboot before tomorrow, you may run the command:
to see if your machine is ready to reboot. If it is, ask someone on Tstaff to do it (by mailing email@example.com), or you can reboot it immediately by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then Ctrl+Alt+Del. Machines that are manually rebooted before Thursday will not reboot again on Thursday.
