Overall, the migration of GPFS to the basement went remarkably well! We lost a total of two power supplies, both failures we could sustain through redundant hardware, and ran into a few bumps along the road, but it could have been a catastrophic failure and sure wasn't. We do have some additional cleanup that still needs to happen, most of which should go unnoticed by the user community.
07:51: The first change, however, will be noticed. We need to sort out the routing issues we were running into with the firewall last night. The configuration looks fine and "should" work, but the only way to know for sure is to failover to our backup firewall. We are going to try to do this before the start of business hours (08:30am).
08:12: It took a couple of attempts to get it right, but we have now successfully failed over the primary firewall duties. We still have one outstanding issue to debug, but this doing so should not interfer with any network routing, so not noticed by users.
Noon: The static (files on the filesystem) website is back to normal. Our ftp server is also back up.
